The plague...

has hit the house...
I have been sick as a dog all week.... Caroline has been down with it since Monday... she is really starting to worry me... all she wants to do is sleep... we're going to the Dr in the morning.

I need to get better and I am praying that nobody else catches this....

I leave next Friday... One week form tomorrow... with David... my son not DH.... to go visit my best friend in the whole wide world and her family... she has 2 kiddos with PWS.... we have been best friends since her older son with PWS and David were babies... we met at our first PWSA conference many many years ago and the rest is history!! We have been through adoptions, deaths, weddings, and everything in between.... I can't wait to see her and the rest of the family... and this is the first time that I will be taking David with me.... her son and David are kind of kindered spirits.. cut from the same mold.... they will have a blast too.

So... stay tuned.... I promise to update...
I just need to get over this crud that I have and be ready to roll next week!!!

I'm Still Here....

just MIA this week! It has been a busy week. Dave is in Atlanta GA (where it is warm and sunny) for work this week... In a nice hotel... with a state of the art gym and pool.... and I am here... in CT.... where it can be 60 degrees one day... and 30 and snowing the next... it is cold, and muddy, and dreary... here. I am so ready for spring.

I have been busy being a single parent this week.... UGH.... I don't know how single parents do it... I am exhausted trying to keep up! I have also had a part time job of fighting for Growth Hormone for the kids this week... just to add to the fun! This happens once or twice a year or so... I have to do battle between the pharmacy, the Drs. office, and the insurance companies... it's crazy... and it really frosts my butt when my kids have to sufer because other people aren't doing their job. David, Ben and Caroline have been without GH since Friday because a certain person can't get it right. After many phone calls today that ended up with me on the phone with the Dr. on his cell phone non-the-less.... and him giving me his cell phone # to call him if this isn't taken cae of tomorrow... I think I might finally be able to pick up the Growth Hormone that has been sitting at the pharmacy for almost 2 weeks now!

Aside from that... I have been busy filling out College Scholarship forms for Alex... hoping for every penny we can get towards tuition!

So blog family.... that's it in a nutshell!

5 Random Things About Me....

Thought this would be fun on a snowy day.....

1. I am NOT a morning person... never have been... never will be. My kids and my husband know not to talk to me until I have been up for 1/2 an hour and had at least one cup of coffee.

2. I love the beach... the sounds, the smells, the feel of the sand between my toes.... I could be a professional beach bum

3. I have been on a wine kick lately.... I love a good Merlot... I need to give up my 2 glasses a night though and get my butt out walking.

4. I have lost 45 pounds since last February... thanks to Weight Watchers and walking 5 miles 3 times a week... hence the reason need to give up the Merlot :-)

5. The housework I hate the most is doing laundry... it is the most ungrateful job I do... and it's never done... no matter how much I do there is always MORE!

UGH!!!!!

I swear I am moving south..... I'm thinking Mexico would be a good choice.... it doesn't snow in Mexico right?????

We woke up to a Flippin' foot of snow this morning!!!!! Which of course means NO SCHOOL again today.... The wind is howling and its like 25 degrees... so no chance of them even wanting to go outside to play..... No.... they would rather stay in and fight over.... EVERYTHING!!!

It is March 2nd.... Spring is right around the corner.... right???? Just this last week we had a couple of warm days and the glacier that was my yard had finally melted away and we could see grass... granted everything is brown and bare looking.... but at least it wasn't white!!!!

Sigh....
